- Job Summary:
This position provides direction for all video production efforts to most effectively support company goals of improving customer communication. As part of the Nemonts overall communication efforts, the Video Production Manager provides strategic oversight and administrative direction over production, business, financial, facility and programming activities of Nemont broadband television, Nemont.TV, as well as video production services.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations for Nemont broadband TV solution and video production. Supervise staff and functions related to Nemont.TV and video production unit. Evaluate job performance of assigned staff to ensure effectiveness and professional growth. Delegate duties, responsibilities and functions for effective production results.
Develop and shoot a variety of related content using a variety of formats. Edit video and audio with high-end linear and non-linear editing systems. Using advanced video, audio writing, editing and lighting techniques, produce compelling and informative content for broadcast. Compose graphics using appropriate software.
Serve as our video communication leadership team. Provide support, strategic advice and council regarding various communications efforts. Provide media prep support for Nemont media relations and crisis communications for print, radio, webcasts and broadband TV news. Write and edit articles for publication. Server as a back-up for public communication efforts. Work with local entities to design appropriate content.
Operate studio cameras for live and taped video productions and operate production switcher, audio mixer, encoder and character generator. Dub programs in a variety of formats for internal and external customers and for use in station programming. Establish and maintain standards using video production industry best practices for programming, facility use and time management. Practice routine/basic maintenance of equipment such as video cameras, production equipment, microphones, etc.
Oversee and coordinate all content acquisitions while maintaining copyright rules and regulations. Use and maintenance of Nemont’s production facility / trailer.
Provide advice and counsel to senior staff regarding most efficient uses of video production resources.
Oversee, develop and provide support of video production efforts to work with content experts to directly support high school sports footage/ content.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of telephone organization.
Knowledge of standards, rules and regulations governing video operations.
Must have firm grasp of the story-telling process and how to weave natural sound, video and script together to tell a compelling story.
Is familiar with and has working knowledge of National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) style and techniques. (Sequencing video, use of good natural sound, good composition, etc.)
Has basic understanding of the operations of an automated television station including network/master control systems.
Ability to maintain confidences and apply appropriate rules, laws and policies governing educational and broadcast environments.
Ability to enterprise educational story ideas.
Ability to utilize good time management skills and the ability to balance a variety of projects simultaneously.
Has one-man-band experience (reporter/photographer/video editor).
Commitment of time outside the regular workday schedule to meet necessary deadlines, complete job assignments and maintain customer satisfaction.
Ability to communicate complex ideas, programs, systems and processes in easy-to-understand language.

Education and Experience
Any combination equivalent to the following education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities would qualify. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:
• Bachelors’ degree in journalism, radio/TV or communications.
• Five years minimum related work experience in broadcast industry or educational television.
• Effective management experience in video production.
• Experience working with commercial broadcast news agencies preferred.
Physical Demands
Must be able to read computer screen and various reports.
Must be able to use personal computer and office equipment.
Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with employees and business contacts.
Sits, walks and stands intermittently during working day.
Stoops and bends when using files.
May be required to lift up to 15 pounds.
Special Demands
This position may require 8 to 10 hour days, flexible hours and some weekends.
Occasional travel may be required.
