Montana landscape and still-life artist Diane Dykman paints and studies
nature's light, and how it changes while painting landscape, still-life, and floral,
while painting in the classic, old master style of Rembrandt and other
twentieth-century old masters.
Diane is primarily self taught, she started drawing at a young age and
knew very young she wanted to be an artist. She developed her painting style by
studying the old masters, and taking workshops from David Leffel, Carol Novotne,
Jim Stevens, and numerous other artists to pursue her love of Oil, Acrylic and
Watercolor. Her art reflects a lifelong love of nature, and can be described as"
Impressionistic Realism". As a girl, Diane developed a strong appreciation for
nature, and respect for conservation of natural resources. Her gallery site shows
recent work that has been influenced by the impressive Rocky Mountains and the
sandstone hills of Eastern Montana.
Diane is a member of The Wild Bunch of Montana Artists of Eastern Montana, The Art
Center of Helena, The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and Ducks Unlimited. She
frequently commits a percentage of sales proceeds to non-profit organizations
like: Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Fort Peck Theatre, Fort Peck Paleontologists
and Interpretive Center.
